Welcome to FODS (Friends of Droxford School)

Representing the parents of the school, we raise additional funds for the children’s benefit by organising events during term time which are both sociable and fun! These include the annual summer BBQ; the Christmas and Easter Fair; Sports day support and running the teas/coffees at the Droxford Village Fair. 

HOW CAN I HELP? 

There are a number of different ways you can support us to raise funds to enrich our children’s school experience: 

FODS Lottery 

We have started running a lottery which is a great way for parents, carers, family members to contribute to raising funds for the school on an ongoing monthly basis. It is drawn every month - there is a cash prize of £50 and tickets start from just £2.50. The sign up form can be accessed here FODS Lottery Tickets 

Donate directly to FODS (with Gift Aid) 

Donations are very gratefully received via the FODS page of wonderful.org which allows all the money donated to come directly to us.

Joining FODS Committee 

We are always looking for new people to join the team, so please email us (friendsofdroxfordschool@gmail.com) if you are interested. You can make a real difference! Joining the committee is a great opportunity for you to have a say in how monies are raised and spent and to bring in new ideas and perspectives. Be certain that your time and effort will be greatly appreciated, and it is also great fun being part of the team! There are leadership roles as well as opportunities to support as event helpers. 

 

Using Pre-loved School Uniform Exchange 

FODS hold a selection of pre-loved school uniform which can be requested via the FODS email (friendsofdroxfordschool@gmail.com) and we will happily take back any good quality items that you no longer need. 

 

WHERE IS FODS MONEY SPENT? 

FODS’ fundraising is a vital funding stream for the school, contributing to the costs of so many important enrichment and curriculum opportunities.  

Some of these have been one-off support for projects such as: 

• Purchasing vital school resources like IT equipment 

• Outdoor play equipment and support for landscape projects 

While other enrichment activities are funded on an annual/biannual basis and without your generosity would not be part of the school experience: 

• ‘Listen to Me’ music provision – every class of children learn to play the violin/a brass instrument/samba drums/ukulele, culminating in an end-of-term performance for parents 

• The Life Education Unit (part of the children’s PDL curriculum) 

• Sports teams kits / Leaver’s Hoodies 

• Inspiring visits from authors, artists and theatre companies 

• A variety of exciting prizes and book rewards for the children 

• Annual provision of updated books for the school library
