What an amazing end to the Spring term! The children were excited and entrepreneurial. They had a wonderful time - thank you all involved. We've had some lovely feedback as well, in terms of how polite, respectful and well-behaved all the children were and also what a great community event it was. So good to see so many parents enjoy themselves as well. Happy Easter holidays everyone!
Just before the COVID Lockdowns, we were bestowed the honour of being the first Ambassador School (one of only two in the whole of the national park!) for the South Downs National Park. This is in recognition of our curriculum; links to the national park; our enrichment opportunities and commitment to developing our outdoor spaces for learning and play. We are also the only school that has invited other schools, from outside the SDNP, to use Droxford for a base of learning and camping onsite.
For more information on how the National park has promoted us this month, please see the article below.

Another successful day. We have planted two new ornamental Cherry trees at the front of the school to match the rest that we have. Volunteers grafted away preparing the soil in the planters on the playground and then planted many new pollinator friendly plants. The staffroom was repainted as was the main storage shed in the carpark. A lot of weeding, pruning and other planting was achieved ready for Spring / Summer growth. Thank you all for helping out!!!
As part of their Art curriculum and a wonderful cultural experience, our children were given a guided tour of the fantastic art gallery in Southampton.
Ross Montgomery loved coming to our school today and laughed lots!
Don't forget Ross Montgomery is visiting the school http://rossmontgomery.co.uk/ as is Roving Bookshop - Thursday 16th March
Signs of spring are on the way - the grounds where the children learn and play look amazing - especially with special early Spring sunsets!
Year 3 & 4 children, ably assisted by their teachers and TAs, performed a lovely service to end the Autumn term - wishing all a very Merry Christmas.
Years 3 & 4 learnt how important it is to keep our teeth and gums clean. They also received lots of oral hygiene freebies!
FODS + Catherine Eldred and her team return for the 2nd annual Christmas wreath making workshop. Lots of beautiful wreaths constructed during a fun evening. Thank you all to help raise more funds to provide great enrichment opportunities for the children.
Year 6s had an amazing week away at Calshot Activity Centre - indoors and outdoors!
