The topics are based on a two year curriculum cycle. The topics are generally cross curricular so that learning is interconnected and relevant.
At the start of topics the children extend their knowledge and deepen their understanding. They are then able to ask high quality questions which can be used in their research. Enquiry based learning is given a high priority; children are encouraged to analyse and evaluate their work.

We want the children to be powerful learners and increasingly engage in deeper thinking and learning. To achieve this the teachers plan structured, supported and open learning tasks that enable children to apply higher order thinking skills.
